As of the end of 2024, more than 3,800 Philadelphia property owners have installed solar. Collectively, program participants have added more than 22 megawatts (MW) of clean power to the grid.
Earlier in the year, PEA marked Solar Week by celebrating this progress and, specifically, the impact of the Infrastructure Reduction Act (IRA). Since passage of the IRA in 2022, the number of Solarize Philly participants has more than tripled.
The IRA is a nearly $370 billion investment – the largest ever made – by the federal government in solutions to combat climate change. The IRA includes grants, loans, rebates, and tax incentives, to support the growth of the clean energy economy with an emphasis on uplifting communities most impacted by the effects of climate change.
